Police are investigating a fatal collision on the A31 that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist. The crash occurred just after 11pm on Petersfield Road, near Chilcomb.

The incident involved a red Yamaha motorbike and a blue Toyota Yaris. The rider, a 34-year-old man from Alresford, was pronounced dead at the scene despite the efforts of emergency crews.

Specialist officers are providing support to the victim’s next of kin during this difficult time.

Detectives are urging anyone who witnessed the crash or has any information about what happened to come forward. Witnesses can contact police by calling 101 and quoting reference 44230038270. Alternatively, details can be submitted online via Hampshire Police’s website.
