A motorcyclist in his 60s has tragically died after a severe collision with a Citroen van on the A342 Monument Hill near Devizes this morning.

Wiltshire Police were called to the scene at approximately 10:10 AM following reports of the crash. The victim, who was from Melksham, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Citroen van was uninjured.

A significant section of the A342 between Upavon and Monument was closed to allow emergency services to clear the wreckage and conduct investigations.

Wiltshire Police have launched a thorough investigation into the fatal collision. They are urging anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage to come forward to assist with their inquiries.
