Detectives have arrested two men following the brutal murder of a man on Olympic Street, Beswick, Greater Manchester. The shocking incident took place on Saturday, March 16.
Just before 11am, Greater Manchester Police responded to reports of an unresponsive male on Olympic Street. Despite heroic efforts from emergency services and brave passersby, the man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have revealed that the victim was killed while trying to stop his car being stolen. On Sunday, March 17, a 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder, while a 43-year-old man was detained for allegedly assisting an offender. Both suspects remain in custody and face intensive questioning.
Detective Chief Inspector Rachel Smith of GMP said, “We want to offer reassurance to the local community. If you have any information, no matter how small, please share it with us.”
