Thames Valley Police have launched a murder probe following a stabbing incident in Slough this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the underground car park at Tesco on Wellington Street at 12:32pm on May 8 after reports of a man being stabbed.
Police and South Central Ambulance Service responded swiftly to the scene. The victim was taken to hospital but was sadly pronounced dead. His next of kin have not yet been informed.
Detective Superintendent Ian Hunter, head of the Major Crime Unit, said, “This is a shocking incident in which a man has lost his life. Our task now is to find out what happened and bring the offender or offenders to justice.”
He also urged the media and public to refrain from identifying the victim until the family has been notified and formal identification has been confirmed.
“We understand the community will be concerned, but we’re carrying out an extensive investigation, reviewing CCTV, collecting witness statements and conducting forensic exams,” Detective Superintendent Hunter added.
“We need the public’s help. If you saw or heard anything suspicious or have mobile phone, dashcam, or CCTV footage, please come forward.”
The Tesco underground car park remains closed while the investigation continues. Police are asking people to avoid the area as vital enquiries are carried out.
