On Saturday 23 April 2022, a man in his 40s was brutally attacked on Strood High Street, between Commercial Road and Esplanade. The assault occurred between 8.30pm and 8.45pm when the victim was struck on the head with an unknown object.
The victim suffered a deep cut to his head, which required numerous stitches. Paramedics treated him at the scene before rushing him to hospital for further care. The attack was completely unprovoked.
Investigating officer PC Nick Pebody said: “This was an unprovoked assault that left the victim requiring a large number of stitches. We are examining CCTV footage and carrying out enquiries in the area.”
He added: “Any witnesses or drivers with dashcam footage are urged to contact us to help with the investigation.”
