Police rushed to Stapleford Lane in Toton just after 2pm on 29 October following a shocking attack witnessed by passing drivers.
Officers arrived to find the victim injured at the roadside. They provided first aid until an ambulance transported him to Queen’s Medical Centre. Fortunately, his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
A 24-year-old man spoke with police over the phone and later turned himself in at Nottingham’s Central Police Station. He was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. The suspect has now been bailed under strict conditions as the investigation continues.
Detective Inspector Paul Lefford of Nottinghamshire Police said, “We will not tolerate this sort of violent disorder on our streets and are working tirelessly to bring those responsible to justice. We have arrested a suspect but our inquiries are ongoing. I urge anyone who saw the incident or has CCTV, dash-cam, or mobile footage to get in touch.”
