A fatal collision on Frith Road in Dover has resulted in the death of a man believed to be in his 40s. The incident occurred at approximately 5:40pm on Saturday, 9 November 2019, involving a red Peugeot 207 and a pedestrian.
Emergency crews from the South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the scene to treat the injured man. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following the collision, two arrests were made. A 31-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman, both local to Dover, were taken into custody on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. They remain in police custody as investigations continue.
Police later discovered a vehicle believed to be involved in the incident abandoned on Astley Avenue near the allotments. Officers are urging anyone who witnessed the red Peugeot or the pedestrian before or after the crash to come forward.
Dashcam footage recorded around the time of the collision could be crucial to the investigation.
