Emergency services rushed to Herrings Lane, Heathfield, in East Sussex after a light aircraft plummeted into a field at 11:05am today.
Firefighters from Heathfield, Uckfield, Battle, and Wadhurst were deployed to the scene. They battled the flames using specialist 1 in 7 foam to douse the fire effectively.
Alongside the firefighters, police officers, paramedics, and a Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) from South East Coast Ambulance Service were also on site to assist with the incident.
The situation remains ongoing as rescue efforts continue. More updates will follow as information becomes available.
