Staffordshire Police are actively investigating after nine pigs were stolen in two brazen raids at a farm in Lichfield. The first theft took place on 3 October, when three pigs were taken from a farm located on Tamworth Road.
Just days later, between the evening of 9 October and the early hours of 10 October, six more pigs were stolen from the same location. The second raid also left another half-dozen pigs injured.
According to officers, the thieves gained access by driving up a farm track to reach the premises before fleeing with the animals. The farm reported the incidents to police on 11 October, prompting an investigation that includes reviewing CCTV footage from the nights in question.
Staffordshire Police have issued a public appeal for help in identifying the suspects. They are asking anyone with information, or who may have dashcam or CCTV footage related to the thefts, to come forward.
Witnesses can contact police by calling 101 and quoting incident number 230 of 11 October. Alternatively, anonymous tips can be submitted to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
