Firefighters battled a blaze at a residential property on Egmont Road, Hove, after an emergency call on Saturday evening, 16 August. East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service (ESFRS) were alerted at 6.56pm and promptly dispatched crews to the scene to tackle the fire.
To bring the blaze under control, firefighters wore four sets of breathing apparatus and used two hose reel jets. At the height of the incident, six fire engines were present, supported by Sussex Police and South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb).
Due to significant smoke in the area, residents were warned to keep windows and doors shut. The public was also advised to avoid the scene while emergency crews worked to damp down the fire.
By 7.36pm, the response was scaled back to a single fire appliance as firefighters continued securing the property. East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that further updates will be provided once investigations into the cause of the fire are complete.
