Police are hunting a hit-and-run driver who left one person injured and rushed to hospital after a crash on the A2990 Old Thanet Way near Herne Bay.

The incident occurred just after 4pm on Friday, May 10, at a red light crossing close to the Lidl roundabout on Greenhill Bridge Road.

The collision involved a silver Citroen and a small silver van. The van fled the scene, speeding off towards Chestfield on the A2990, leaving emergency crews to attend to the injured party, who was quickly taken to hospital. Their condition remains unknown.

Kent Police have launched an urgent appeal for anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage to come forward.

A spokesperson said, “Inquiries to locate the driver of the second vehicle are ongoing. We urge witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to get in touch.”
