Police are searching for a driver who left a schoolboy fighting for his life after a hit-and-run crash on King Street, Gillingham, last Wednesday evening.

The boy suffered a triple leg break when he was struck by a silver Mercedes CLK at around 6:10pm. The driver then sped off, leaving chaos behind.

Kent Police confirmed: “We were called to King Street at 6.21pm on Wednesday, 22 January, following reports a teenage pedestrian had been hit by a car.”

South East Coast Ambulance Service rushed the injured teenager to hospital. Thankfully, his injuries are serious but not life-threatening.

The silver Mercedes had disappeared by the time police arrived. Investigations are ongoing to locate the driver and bring justice for the victim.
