Tragic Death on A2 Near Canterbury – Police Hunt Witnesses

On the night of Saturday, October 2, a fatal collision occurred on the A2 near Canterbury, resulting in the death of a man in his 20s. The incident took place at approximately 11.45pm on the coastbound carriageway between the Thanington and Bridge junctions.

A black Audi struck the pedestrian, prompting an immediate response from emergency services. Kent Police and the South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the scene promptly. Despite their efforts, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the roadside.

The driver of the Audi was taken to hospital for treatment but has since been discharged.

Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) is urgently seeking anyone who witnessed the crash or saw the pedestrian prior to the incident. Drivers with dashcam footage that may assist the investigation are also encouraged to come forward.
