Police are currently investigating a racially aggravated assault on a woman in her 40s in Farnborough. The incident has prompted a hate crime probe as authorities seek to identify the suspects involved.
The victim, who is of Nepalese descent, was attacked between 6.30pm and 7.45pm on Monday, October 19. She was walking along the footpath between Curly Bridge and Cove Brook Bridge when a group of four young males began hurling racial abuse at her.
Without warning, one of the youths struck the woman from behind, knocking her unconscious. As a result of the assault, she sustained a bruised face and an injured elbow.
The suspects are described as white males aged between 17 and 19 years old. One of the males is notably taller with blonde hair. All were wearing dark clothing and were seen riding electric scooters and bicycles at the time of the attack.
Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has information about the suspects to come forward. Witnesses can contact the police on 101, quoting reference number 44200406822. Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
