Teen Youths Attack Dog Walker After Trying to Torch Tree

Police are hunting two teenage lads after an 18-year-old man was assaulted while out walking his dog on Hazleton Common, near Waterlooville.

Fire-Setting Teens Turn Violent

The incident happened between 3.30pm and 4.30pm on Thursday, November 17. The victim spotted two youths attempting to set fire to a tree in the nature reserve. When he told them to stop, one of the teens attacked him before they both fled the scene.

The man suffered minor cuts to his hands during the scuffle but escaped serious injury.

Descriptions of the Suspects

  • First male: White, 17 years old, very slim build, about 5ft 10ins tall. He wore a grey hooded top with the hood up, grey baggy tracksuit bottoms, and black Nike Huarache trainers.
  • Second male: White, aged 17-18, slim build, around 5ft 10ins tall with dark hair. He was dressed in a black hooded top, very dark blue jeans, and black trainers.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

Officers are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or recognises the two youths from the descriptions. They also want to speak to a woman who was walking two dogs nearby and told the victim that two teenagers had run at her.
