Fatal M1 Crash: Police Hunt Key Witnesses
Police are urgently appealing for witnesses after a deadly collision on the M1 between junction 21 near Lutterworth and junction 20 for Leicester.
Who Are They Looking For?
Officers want to speak to drivers of two crucial vehicles who may have had to swerve to avoid the crash:
- Dark-coloured Vauxhall Astra (2005-2011 model)
- Silver Ford Focus (2012 onwards)
They also believe these cars were nearby and want to track down their drivers:
- Red Fiat Panda
- White Volkswagen SUV (likely a T-Roc)
- Black Ford Transit van
- Dark grey Vauxhall Corsa (2015 model)
- Silver Renault Master van or Vauxhall Vivaro, behind a Skoda Octavia
- White Mitsubishi L200
Crash Details and Aftermath
The crash involved multiple vehicles, including a BMW 1 Series, BMW 3 Series, Skoda Octavia, Ford Mondeo, and a Renault lorry. It happened just before 6:30pm on Wednesday 10 March.
A man in his 30s was rushed to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire with life-threatening injuries but sadly died on Friday 19 March.
A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop but has since been released under investigation.
