Canterbury’s city centre was thrown into chaos this afternoon following a stabbing at the busy taxi rank on Canterbury Lane.
Witnesses reported that a large fight broke out just after 4pm involving a group of delivery riders. The violent altercation quickly escalated, resulting in one man sustaining a stab wound and two others suffering injuries.
Paramedics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the scene to provide medical treatment to the victims, while police sealed off the area to manage the situation.
Several road closures remain in place, causing disruption to local traffic around Canterbury Lane.
A Kent Police spokesman said, “Kent Police was called at 4.10pm on 22 January 2020 to a report of a disturbance involving a group of men in a car park off Canterbury Lane. One man suffered an injury consistent with a stab wound and is currently being treated at the scene by medical professionals. Officers are in attendance and carrying out enquiries to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and the identities of those involved.”
