Thieves made a daring but failed attempt to steal a cash machine from Asda on Strood High Street in a botched raid.
At around 12.30am on Monday 3 February 2020, Kent Police were scrambled following reports of a break-in at the store.
Officers discovered a damaged wall beside the cash machine, which had been smashed in an effort to access the room housing the ATM. Despite the damage, no cash or goods were taken during the incident.
Local residents reported hearing loud banging noises from as early as 11pm the previous night, hours before police arrived at the scene.
Detectives from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate are actively investigating the case and seeking any leads.
Police are urging anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious to come forward and assist with the investigation.
