Flames tore through the old police station on Streatham High Road this Tuesday afternoon, December 20th, triggering a significant emergency response.
After multiple 999 calls were received, six fire engines and an aerial ladder arrived at the scene shortly after 4.30pm to combat the blaze. The building, which was formerly a police station and reportedly housed homeless residents, was engulfed in flames.
Several road closures have been put in place around the area to allow fire crews to work safely while they tackle the fire. These closures are expected to remain for some time as the situation is brought under control.
The London Fire Brigade and Metropolitan Police have been contacted for comment. Updates will be provided as the situation develops.
