Bestwood neighbourhood officers collaborated with the City North Operation Reacher squad to conduct a significant drugs crackdown. Acting on fresh intelligence, they executed a Misuse of Drugs Act warrant at an address on Walgrave Walk at 9 a.m. on 17 January.

During the search, officers seized suspected Class A drugs. Five men, three aged 30 and two aged 40, were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply and possession with intent to supply Class A drugs. All suspects have been interviewed and subsequently released pending further inquiries.

Bestwood Sergeant Katie Taylor commented on the operation: “Yesterday’s warrant disrupted drug activity and removed dangerous Class A substances from our streets. We’re sending a strong message to anyone involved in drugs in Bestwood: we see you, and we’re taking action to keep the community safe.”

She added, “This shows our commitment to making Bestwood safer and ensuring residents feel protected and heard. Every drug haul we seize tackles associated crime causing misery in the area.”

If you have any information on drug activity, you are encouraged to contact a police officer, call 101, or reach out to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
