A 59-year-old man has died in hospital a month after being hit by a car on Tonbridge Road, Barming.
The crash occurred on Wednesday, 6 November, near the Esso petrol station. The victim was struck by a white Toyota H-CR as he crossed the A26 by the Stanford Drive junction. At the time, the car was travelling from Maidstone towards Barming.
The injured man was airlifted to a London hospital but sadly passed away on Friday, police confirmed today.
Serious collision detectives are investigating the incident and have launched an appeal for witnesses. A Kent Police spokesperson said, “Anyone who saw what happened or has dashcam or CCTV footage should contact us. Call 01622 798538 quoting reference SM/DGC/108/24 or email [email protected].” Dashcam footage can also be uploaded directly via the Kent Police website.
The tragedy has shocked the local community, with many sending condolences to the victim’s family. Police continue to probe the circumstances surrounding the incident and urge anyone with information to assist their enquiries.
