Lancashire Police have released details following a serious collision on the M6 northbound slip road at Junction 29, Bamber Bridge, which took place just after 4:25pm on Friday, 13th February.
A white Ford Transit van skidded into a queue of stationary vehicles, including a heavy goods truck and two cars. A baby passenger in one of the cars sustained serious injuries and was rushed to hospital. Authorities have confirmed that the baby’s injuries are not life-threatening and have extended their best wishes to the child and their family.
Following the crash, the driver and passenger of the Ford Transit fled the scene. Lancashire Police have since arrested two men in connection with the incident. A 39-year-old man from Preston is currently held on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and remains in custody. A 42-year-old man from Blackburn was also arrested on the same charge but has been released on bail with strict conditions.
Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage of the crash to come forward. Members of the public are asked to contact police by calling 101 and quoting log 937 of 13th February. Authorities request that any footage be sent directly to them rather than shared on social media, to assist with the ongoing investigation.
