Police are investigating a deliberate arson attack at a home in Basingstoke that took place in the early hours of Sunday, August 8.

At around 3am, the front door of a property in Timor Close was set on fire. Fortunately, three people inside managed to escape without injury, but the incident has left the local community concerned.

Officers reported that two slim young men, estimated to be between 15 and 25 years old, were seen near the scene just as the fire started. Police are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen these individuals or noticed any suspicious activity in the area at that time.

If you were in Timor Close at 3am or have any information, police urge you to come forward. Private CCTV or dashcam footage that could assist the investigation would be particularly valuable.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Hampshire Police on 101, quoting reference 44210314679. Alternatively, information can be reported anonymously to Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111 or online at crimestoppers-uk.org.
