Man, 61, Arrested After Woman’s Body Found in Reading Marina
Body Discovered at Thames and Kennet Marina
Thames Valley Police confirmed a 61-year-old man has been nabbed on suspicion of murder after a woman’s body was found in Reading’s Thames and Kennet Marina.
Officers rushed to the scene shortly after 10:30 a.m. on Saturday following reports of a body in the water.
Death Being Treated as ‘Unexplained’
The woman’s death is currently classed as unexplained. The suspect, a man from Caversham, remains in custody as police dig deeper into the case.
Police Urge Public to Avoid Speculation
Detective Inspector Richard Pickering said, “We are in the very early stages of this investigation. Although we have made an arrest, I would urge the public not to speculate on the circumstances of the woman’s death, which is being treated as unexplained at this time.”
He added that a scene-watch is in place and will remain for some time while the probe continues.
