Thieves attempting to raid the Bishopstoke Tesco Express in Eastleigh for the second time in a week were caught red-handed by an unexpected witness — an emergency ambulance crew passing by.
Two paramedics from South Central Ambulance Service were on a nearby call when they spotted a shabby Ford Fiesta behaving suspiciously on the main road. Moments later, they witnessed three men breaking into the Tesco Express, located just yards from a local car wash fence.
The ambulance crew quickly abandoned their original task, raised the alarm, and confronted the gang. The suspects fled back to their vehicle and sped off, but their faces and car were recorded on both the ambulance’s dashcam and the Tesco’s CCTV footage.
This incident marked the second attack on the store in a week, with windows still boarded up from the previous smash-and-grab. Police responded swiftly, arresting the three men who are now in custody and being questioned regarding the series of break-ins.
