A woman has been sentenced to nearly three years in prison after a brutal and unprovoked attack on a teenage boy at a house party in Swindon. The 21-year-old, Drew Stanton-Foreman, stabbed the 17-year-old victim with the stem of a broken champagne glass, causing serious injuries.
Stanton-Foreman, who lives on Redhouse Way, was sentenced to two years and eight months at Swindon Crown Court on Monday. She was found guilty of inflicting grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent on the teenager.
The court heard that the violent attack was completely unprovoked. During the party, Stanton-Foreman suddenly attacked the boy, slashing him with the broken glass. The victim suffered deep lacerations and trauma, which shocked everyone present at the event.
Emergency services were called immediately, and the teenager was rushed to hospital where he received urgent medical treatment. Although he has physically recovered, the boy continues to struggle with the emotional impact of the ordeal.
Sentencing Stanton-Foreman, the judge described the attack as “completely reckless and disproportionate,” emphasizing the deliberate nature of the assault and the serious harm caused. A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said, “This was a shocking and senseless act of violence that could have had even more tragic consequences. We hope this sentence provides some closure for the victim and sends a clear message: this kind of behaviour will not be tolerated.”
The court also noted that Stanton-Foreman showed little remorse during the investigation and trial. She will serve her sentence in custody, with the possibility of parole after serving half of her term.
