A woman in her 50s was tragically killed in a hit-and-run incident on Newark Road, Ollerton, at approximately 10.25pm on December 8. The victim was struck by a car whose driver then fled the scene without stopping.

Paramedics attended quickly but sadly declared the woman dead on arrival at the scene.

Following the incident, police arrested a 33-year-old man in connection with the crash. He faces several charges including causing death by dangerous driving, failing to stop, and failing to report the incident. The man has since been released on bail as the investigation continues.

Sergeant Steve Waft of Nottinghamshire Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said, “The investigation is moving at pace, and we have now arrested a 33-year-old man in connection with the incident. This has been incredibly distressing for the victim’s family and our thoughts continue to be with them at this difficult time.”

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward. Those with details are urged to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 788 of 8 December 2022. Alternatively, information can be reported anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
