Kent Police have charged a 26-year-old woman with attempted murder following a deliberate incident involving a pedestrian on the A249 near Sittingbourne.
The terrifying event took place at 5.22am on May 31, 2024, near Bobbing Roundabout, when a pedestrian was intentionally hit by a vehicle.
Emergency services, including the South East Coast Ambulance Service, responded quickly to the scene. The injured man was transported to hospital and has since been discharged.
On Sunday, June 2, police arrested Lauren Willis from Wollaston Close, Gillingham. She now faces several serious charges: attempted murder, two counts of actual bodily harm, and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
Willis is scheduled to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, June 4.
Investigators are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage to come forward. Witness accounts are crucial to support the ongoing investigation.
Motorists who were in the area at the time are especially encouraged to review their dashcam recordings.
