Two Teens Convicted of Brutal Deptford Murder

Two teenagers have been found guilty of murdering 21-year-old Robert Robinson in a savage knife attack in Deptford during summer 2024.

Ryan Wedderburn, 18, from Windlass Place, and Kirk Harris, 19, of Upper Brockley Road, were convicted at the Old Bailey on Tuesday, May 13, 2025.

Frenzied Daylight Stabbing Caught on CCTV

The court heard Robinson was targeted and stabbed multiple times in broad daylight. Prosecutors described the assault as a “frenzied and deliberate attack.” Emergency crews rushed to the scene, but Robinson was sadly pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Both Wedderburn and Harris denied murder throughout a thorough trial. But CCTV footage, forensic evidence, and witness testimony sealed their fate.

The pair will be sentenced at a later date, the court confirmed.

Family Speak Out After Guilty Verdict

“Robert was a much-loved son, brother, and friend. His life was stolen in a senseless act of violence. We thank the police and prosecution for their hard work and the jury for delivering justice,” said the victim’s family in a statement.

Met Police Praise ‘Relentless Investigation’

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “This tragic case involved the needless loss of a young man’s life. Our team worked tirelessly to identify and bring those responsible to justice. We hope this verdict brings some measure of closure to Robert’s loved ones.”

Police confirmed the attack was targeted, with no indication it was random. The motive remains undisclosed as the investigation continues.
