Two prison officers have been charged after a violent assault at HMP Whitemoor on 9 January. Brusthom Ziamani, 24, and Baz Macaulay Hockton, 26, both serving with Her Majesty’s Prison Service, face serious charges following the attack.

On Tuesday, 3 March, both men were charged with attempted murder. In addition to this, Ziamani faces extra charges of actual bodily harm (ABH) and common assault for attacking two other prison officers in separate incidents.

The two men are scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 1 and 4 March to answer the charges against them.

This shocking attack highlights the dangers prison officers face behind bars every day.
