Wiltshire Police have arrested two men after a brutal assault in Amesbury left a man in his 20s seriously injured. The attack occurred around 11:45pm on Thursday, May 1, on Mill Green Road.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene following a report from an ambulance. The victim was found with a serious head injury and was taken straight to hospital. Police have stated that his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, but the assault was severe.
A 28-year-old and a 22-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent. The 22-year-old also faces additional charges for possession of a Class A drug, drug driving, and harassment linked to a separate incident in Hampshire. During the arrest, police found drugs hidden in his sock.
Both men remain in police custody awaiting further questioning.
