Three Men Jailed Over £2m Class A Drug Haul
Three men have been locked up for their roles in a massive drug supply operation worth over £2 million.
Drugs Found in Leeds and Cleveland Raids
West Yorkshire Police stopped a Vauxhall Zafira driven by Michael Flint in Leeds’ East End Park on January 18. Inside, officers found 10 kilos of cocaine hidden away.
A search of Flint’s nearby address on Vinery Mount uncovered 48 kilos of MDMA and another 3 kilos of cocaine.
Later that day, a connected VW Tiguan was stopped in Cleveland. Officers found 3 kilos of cocaine with Sammy Stapleton behind the wheel and Nathan Reilly in the passenger seat.
Jail Sentences for Drugs and Weapons Charges
- Michael Flint, 38, from Rothwell, Leeds, was handed seven years and six months for possession of cocaine and MDMA with intent to supply.
- Sammy Stapleton, 38, of Manchester’s Wythenshaw area, got three years and nine months for possession of cocaine with intent to supply.
- Nathan Reilly, 22, also from Wythenshaw, was jailed for two years and six months for possession of cocaine with intent to supply, plus possession of a knife found during a search of his home.
Police Praise Sentences for Disrupting Drug Trade
Detective Inspector Dave Watts of West Yorkshire Police’s Programme Precision team said: “We welcome the sentences handed down by the court today and are pleased that our actions have not only put these three men behind bars, but have made a significant disruption to the supply of Class A drugs.
“By taking this kind of action, we will continue to target those who cause harm to the communities of West Yorkshire while profiting from organised crime.”
