Toddler Dies After Horrific Abuse by Mum and Her Ex

Four-year-old Kol Page was found lifeless in a Bromley home on April 25, 2022. The little boy suffered brutal injuries while under the care of his mum, Zoe Coutts, 35, from Crayford, and her ex, Scott O’Connor, 36, from Thamesmead.

Kol survived the initial attack but was left with catastrophic brain damage and severe disabilities. Tragically, he died on June 29, 2024, aged just four years and three months.

Mum and Ex-Boyfriend Found Guilty Over Toddler’s Death

At Southwark Crown Court, Zoe Coutts was convicted of allowing the death of a child. Scott O’Connor was found guilty of manslaughter.

Detectives revealed Kol suffered repeated assaults in the weeks before his collapse. His injuries included bruises across his face, black eyes, and a severe abdominal wound caused by punches or stomps.

Shocking Abuse and Callous Jokes Laid Bare

Court evidence showed photos of Kol’s worsening bruises over time. Disturbingly, messages between Coutts and O’Connor revealed them joking about hurting him.

“Kol was an innocent little boy who suffered horrific abuse in the place where he should have been safest — at home with his mother,” said Detective Chief Inspector Kate Blackburn.

“Kol was boisterous, cheeky and endlessly loving to everyone who knew him. He should have had a bright future but was let down by those who should have protected him most. He will always be remembered.”

Sentencing Scheduled for May 8

Coutts and O’Connor await sentencing on May 8, as this heart-breaking case moves closer to closure.
