On Saturday morning, July 23, at 11:10 a.m., police were called to Marlpit Lane in Emsworth after a 47-year-old man was found seriously injured following a brutal attack.
The man was rushed to hospital but sadly passed away two days later, on Monday, July 25.
Following a swift investigation, three men were arrested in connection with the incident. The suspects are Joseph Butler, 22, of Priors Leaze Lane, Hambrook; Tarin Hopkins, 20, of Common Road, Hambrook; and Thomas Goldring, 20, of Lockerley Road, Havant, Hampshire.
All three men have been charged with murder and are currently remanded in custody. They are scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing on Monday, August 1, at Crawley Magistrates’ Court.
Specialist officers are providing support to the victim’s family during this difficult time. Detectives are appealing for anyone with information about the attack to come forward.
