Northamptonshire Police have successfully dismantled a suspected drug supply operation in a significant raid across the county. The operation was led by the Serious and Organised Crime Team, with assistance from the Road Crime Team, Neighbourhood Policing, Operation Revive, Dog Unit, and Joint Operations Team.
Lewis Manning, aged 25, of Charles Street, Thrapston, has been formally charged with possession with intent to supply cocaine and cannabis. In addition, he faces charges of possession of criminal property. Manning appeared at Northampton Magistrates’ Court on April 17, where he was remanded in custody. His next court appearance is scheduled for Northampton Crown Court on June 2, 2021.
Detective Inspector Nick Cobley from the Serious & Organised Crime Team praised the collaborative effort behind the operation. He stated, “This was a fine example of different departments within Northants Police coming together to successfully tackle issues that make a real difference to local communities who do not want to endure drug dealing on their streets.”
He added, “I hope that this charge and remand will give the public trust and confidence in this Force and demonstrate that we are committed to making their lives and the areas where they live, better.”
