A fatal stabbing shocked Abbey Orchard Street in Westminster on Friday, 27 March. Farmanullah Sherzad, aged 26, lost his life after being stabbed in the heart of Westminster.
Police were called to Abbey Orchard Street, SW1, at 10:17pm following reports of a stabbing. Officers arrived promptly and found Sherzad gravely wounded. Despite emergency first aid and rapid transfer to hospital, he tragically died.
On Tuesday, 31 March, 18-year-old Suliaman Tajzai from Leeds was charged with murder in connection with the incident. Tajzai is scheduled to appear at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 1 April. The investigation into the stabbing is ongoing.
In addition, police arrested a 21-year-old man on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody as officers continue their inquiries.
Meanwhile, Sherzad’s family are receiving specialist support during this difficult time.
