A Sussex Police officer, PC Tim Bradshaw, has been charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving following a crash in Bognor. The incident occurred on November 3, 2022, when a police vehicle driven by PC Bradshaw collided with an electric bike on Hawthorn Road.

PC Bradshaw is scheduled to appear at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court on April 4 to face the charges related to the collision that resulted in serious injury to one person.

The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) conducted a review of the crash and recommended that Sussex Police carry out a local investigation. Sussex Police will determine whether any misconduct proceedings will be pursued once the criminal case has concluded.

This case has attracted significant attention and highlights concerns regarding police driving standards within Sussex.
