Daniel Julian, a Sussex police officer, has been charged with serious sexual offences including attempted rape, sexual assault, and making a woman engage in sexual activity without her consent. The alleged offences relate to an incident that occurred in Kent in 2021.

The incident reportedly took place on 17 August 2021 while Julian was off duty. Following the charges, he has been suspended from his role as a police officer.

Julian is scheduled to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 21 April 2023 to face the charges.

The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) has intervened in the case and has instructed the Professional Standards Department to conduct a full local investigation into the matter.
