A shocking assault in Southsea has left the community disturbed after sisters Daisy and Minnie-Mo Hunt brutally attacked a woman and stomped on her while she was unconscious.
Daisy Hunt, 23, of Berkshire Close, was sentenced to three years in prison at Portsmouth Crown Court. She was found guilty of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm in connection with the savage attack that took place on Southsea Common in June 2020.
Minnie-Mo Hunt, 25, from Kiln Lane, Epsom, received an 18-month suspended sentence after being convicted of causing actual bodily harm during the same incident.
The victim, a 20-year-old woman from Havant, suffered serious head and facial injuries in the attack on June 17, 2020, at approximately 8.30pm. She was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital for treatment and has since recovered.
Portsmouth South Inspector Louise Tester commented on the case, stating, “This was a nasty assault that could have had much more serious consequences. This behaviour was completely unacceptable and the sentence shows that we will thoroughly investigate and seek prosecution for these kinds of distressing and violent crimes.”
Inspector Tester added, “I hope that today’s sentence provides some closure to the victim on this traumatic experience.”
