Two men are fighting for their lives after a brutal attack in Southend last night. Both victims were rushed to hospital and remain in a life-threatening condition following the shocking incident.
Violence erupted near the Odeon Cinema on London Road at around 11.30pm when police were called after members of the public reported an injured man. A second seriously injured man was later found close to College Way as officers searched the area.
In connection with the attack, three people have been arrested. A 28-year-old man faces charges of assault causing grievous bodily harm and drug possession. A 24-year-old woman is suspected of knife possession, firearms offences, and multiple assaults including grievous bodily harm. Additionally, a 22-year-old man was detained on charges including criminal damage, intent to steal drugs, robbery, and grievous bodily harm.
All three suspects remain in police custody as investigations continue.
Essex Police have established a strong presence at the scenes on London Road and College Way. They are urging the public to avoid these areas and to come forward with any information that could assist the investigation.
