A shocking stabbing incident occurred just before 8pm on Wednesday, 27 August, in a multi-storey car park on East Street, Sittingbourne. Police were called to the scene after reports of a stabbing.

A woman in her 40s was found with stab wounds and was immediately treated by emergency crews from the South East Coast Ambulance Service. She was rushed to a hospital in London and has since been treated and released.

Later that evening, 60-year-old Tina Tomsett of Crown Quay Lane, Sittingbourne, was arrested in connection with the attack. She faces serious charges including causing grievous bodily harm with intent and possessing a bladed article in a public place.

Tomsett was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 29 August.

Kent Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward to assist with the investigation. A police spokesperson said: “We continue to appeal to any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police to contact us.
