A man has been charged with attempted murder after a shocking attack in Sheerness that resulted in serious head injuries to a man in his 60s.
Kent Police responded to a private residence on Sheerness High Street at 6.43pm on Wednesday, 11 February 2026. Upon arrival, officers found the victim badly injured and he was immediately taken to a hospital in London for treatment. Fortunately, the victim has since been discharged.
Later that evening, 31-year-old Aidan Kirby from Pentrich Avenue, Enfield, London, was arrested in connection with the incident. Kirby was charged with attempted murder the following day. He appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court and was remanded in custody ahead of a hearing scheduled for 13 March at Maidstone Crown Court.
Kent Police continue to investigate the attack and are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has CCTV footage to come forward.
