A shocking knife attack has left a schoolboy injured at Oasis Academy Mayfield in Southampton. Police were called to the scene shortly after 2pm following reports of a stabbing.
Hampshire Constabulary confirmed that one child was hurt and officers confiscated a “bladed article” from the school premises. Two students are currently being questioned as part of the ongoing investigation into the violent incident.
A spokesperson for Oasis Academy Mayfield stated that staff acted swiftly to secure the area after the incident occurred. They reassured the public that the school prioritises the safety and wellbeing of all pupils.
“Unsafe behaviour will not be tolerated. We have robust safeguarding policies and act immediately to protect our students,” the spokesman added.
Police remain on site as the investigation continues. The local community is seeking answers following this alarming attack within the school grounds.
