Two Nabbed After Speedy Police Sting on Sevenoaks Shoplifters
Kent Police swooped fast after a suspected theft at Boots in Sevenoaks High Street last Wednesday night. Two suspects were caught red-handed within 20 minutes at Sevenoaks railway station, clutching stolen goods and tools.

Suspects Charged and Bailed to Court
- Scott Murphy, 38, Turpington Lane
- Charlene Cornwell, 33, Turpington Lane, Bromley
Both face theft charges and were bailed to appear at Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 30 September.
Police Praise Impact of Anti-Shoplifting Efforts
“Thanks to targeted plain clothes ops, extra patrols, and community engagement, shoplifting reports in Sevenoaks have dropped nearly 10% over the past year,” said Detective Inspector Rik Spicer. “Our neighbourhood task force works daily with local stakeholders to track and tackle crime trends.”
Kent Police confirmed a 9.6% year-on-year drop in reported shoplifting incidents across the area.
