Canterbury district’s Community Safety Unit conducted a major raid on Thursday 9 May 2024, uncovering a huge cannabis grow operation at an industrial site in the area.
Officers broke into the property and discovered hundreds of cannabis plants at various stages of growth scattered throughout the site. All plants and cultivation equipment were seized immediately as part of the operation.
East Kent CID has launched a full-scale investigation to identify and apprehend those responsible for the illegal cannabis cultivation.
A 34-year-old man was arrested at the scene and is currently in custody on suspicion of cultivating cannabis. Police enquiries are ongoing as they continue to gather evidence and follow leads.
Kent Police is urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspected drug production or sales in their communities. Concerns can be reported via the Kent Police website. In emergencies or if a crime is in progress, the public is advised to call 999 immediately.
