Police Hunt Witnesses After Brutal Attack Outside Worthing McDonald’s

Serious Assault Rocks Worthing Town Centre

Sussex Police are on the lookout for witnesses following a serious assault in Worthing town centre. The shocking attack happened between 5pm and 5.30pm on Saturday, July 12, in Liverpool Gardens, right outside McDonald’s entrance.

Victim Left Injured – Suspect Arrested and Released on Bail

A 62-year-old local man was punched by another man, resulting in a serious injury. Despite the severity, the victim did not seek hospital treatment at the time. Police quickly arrested a 63-year-old local man on suspicion of attempted grievous bodily harm. He has now been released on bail as the investigation continues.

Police Urge Locals to Come Forward

Detective Constable Dan Waterson said: “This was a serious assault in a busy town centre outside McDonald’s in the late afternoon. The victim was left shaken. We arrested a suspect soon after, but we need more witnesses and any footage from the public.”

The attack happened in a busy spot when many people were around, and police hope someone captured the incident on camera or saw what happened.
