Damien Saunders, aged 40, from Pewsey, has been sentenced to two years in prison after admitting to arranging a child sex offence. The sentencing took place at Swindon Crown Court on October 4, 2024, following his guilty plea in August.
The court heard that Saunders, who resides on Meadow Court, orchestrated or assisted in arranging illegal sexual activity involving a child between April and July 2024. His actions constitute an offence under section 9 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003.
Along with the custodial sentence, Saunders was given a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and was placed on the Sex Offenders Register for 10 years.
Trainee Detective Constable Daniel Smith, who led the investigation, stated: “We take all reports of this nature incredibly seriously.” He encouraged victims and anyone with relevant information to come forward.
