A fresh development has emerged in the investigation into the murder of 16-year-old Kennie Carter. Kennie was tragically stabbed to death on January 22, 2022, on Thirlmere Avenue, Stretford.
On November 20, 2023, another 16-year-old boy was brought before Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court in connection with the case. For legal reasons, his identity has not been disclosed. This new suspect joins others who were charged in late October as part of the ongoing probe.
Detective Chief Inspector Nicola McCulloch, who leads Greater Manchester Police’s Major Incident Team, expressed the force’s commitment to supporting Kennie’s family. She said, “We will keep pushing until justice is served and Kennie’s loved ones get the closure they deserve.”
Detective McCulloch also appealed to the public for help. She urged anyone with new information or footage related to Kennie’s death to come forward. “Whether you have mobile, CCTV, or dash-cam clips, now’s the time to share them,” she said. “It’s not too late – we believe there’s more evidence out there.”
