PC Joe Moloney, a serving officer with Met Operations, has been charged with sexual assault concerning an alleged incident that took place in Bruce Grove on October 29, 2022. The allegations surfaced while Moloney was off-duty, causing concern within the local community.

On October 17, PC Moloney appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court where he pleaded not guilty to the charge. Following the hearing, he was released on bail and is scheduled to appear at Wood Green Crown Court on November 21 for the next stage of the legal proceedings.

The case came to public attention after Moloney’s arrest on November 1, 2022. The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) has initiated an investigation and requested a local inquiry into the matter. A police spokesperson confirmed that PC Moloney has been suspended from duty during the ongoing investigation.

Additionally, the Directorate of Professional Standards has been notified to ensure appropriate oversight of PC Moloney’s conduct as the investigation continues.
