Milo Lindsay, from Longport Avenue, Withington, has been sentenced to 14 years in prison at Manchester Crown Court for a series of brutal knife attacks. The charges against Lindsay included two counts of section 18 assault, one count of section 20 assault, and two counts of possessing a bladed article. He will also serve an additional four years on licence after his release.
The violent incidents began on Sunday, 18 August 2019, when police were called to a pub in Withington. A man was found with a deep six-centimetre slash across his face, requiring stitches and leaving permanent scarring.
Five months later, on 30 January 2020, another attack occurred at a nightclub in Withington. Two men suffered serious facial injuries, with one sustaining an eight-inch gash and the other a three-inch wound. Both required hospital treatment and were left with lasting scars.
Natalie Richardson from Greater Manchester Police’s City of Manchester district commented on the case: “These incidents resulted in victims needing hospital treatment and being left with scars. These are serious consequences and could have been even worse. Nights out are meant to be fun – not a risk to your safety. No one should worry about people carrying knives nearby. This sentencing sends a clear message: violent offenders will be caught and punished. We want the public to know GMP is relentless in tracking down suspects, linking them to multiple offences, and making sure justice is done.”
